Despite potential departure rumors swirling around him, Kylian Mbappé proved his undeniable talent once again, leading Paris Saint-Germain back to the Champions League quarterfinals.

The World Cup winner showcased his brilliance with a brace (two goals) in a thrilling 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad. This win secured PSG's first quarterfinal appearance in three seasons, advancing them 4-1 on aggregate after their first-leg win.

However, Mbappé's future at the club remains uncertain. Reports suggest he informed PSG of his intention to leave after the season, with Real Madrid heavily linked as his next destination.

Despite their hefty investments in pursuit of Champions League glory, PSG had suffered a string of last-16 exits in recent years. This victory marks a significant step towards their ultimate goal.

"We knew we needed a strong start," Mbappé stated post-match. "An early Sociedad goal would have emboldened them with their home support. We effectively silenced their hopes early, and I'm thrilled to be back in the quarterfinals."

While Mbappé's heroics were instrumental, concerns arose after a goalless streak in PSG's previous two draws, leading to substitutions in both matches. These decisions, according to sources, caused friction with manager Luis Enrique.

However, Mbappé completed Tuesday's game and denied any issues with the coach. "There are no problems with him, despite the rumors," he clarified. "He's not one of my problems."

Echoing these sentiments, Enrique stated, "I have no problems with any player. He can excel under any manager, capable of scoring 50 goals and contributing 25 assists. He's the best final third player in the world, unstoppable. Today, he showcased additional skills, holding the ball and attacking the open field when necessary."

With his double against Sociedad, Mbappé etched his name in the Champions League record books. At 25 years and 76 days, he became the second-youngest player (after Lionel Messi) to reach 46 goals in the competition's group and knockout stages.
